Fishing lately has been one word and that is spectacular with excellent catches of cod, haddock and wolffish coming over the rails. Fish are hitting both jigs and bait sending anglers home with plenty of fillets of fresh fish for the freezer at the end of the trips. There is a tremendous amount of sand lance on the bank with mackerel and herring which the fish are gouging themselves on along with the majestic humpback whales which are here in large numbers.

Action has been steady and most anglers using jigs are rigging them with teasers consisting of grubs or flies. The bait has been primarily been fresh sea clams and occasionally we are using squid.

THE TUNA FISH HAVE ARRIVED and we will be starting our tuna fishing trips next week. Anglers have been catching good size school bluefin in the 80 to 100 pound class with giants to 800 pounds being taken by the harpoon boats. With all of this bait around it should be another awesome tuna season.

This year we will be using our Shimano 50 class reels and custom built rods when trolling and also using the Shimano Butterfly Jigging system for anglers that want to try something different.

Last week Shaun, one of our captains and mates had a fantastic week fishing from shore landing very large striped bass to 30 Pounds which were having a feeding frenzy in Cape Cod Canal. The good news is that these linesiders are headed our way and should provide some nice action this summer.
